| The Pediatric Cardiac
Center at Children’s
Hospital and Research Center at Oakland provides the continuum of
services to
children
and adults with all types of congenital heart disease. Founded
30 years ago, the Center provides therapeutic, interventional,
surgical and follow up services to patients from all over the East
Bay and Northern California. The Center includes seven pediatric
cardiologists, three pediatric cardiothoracic surgeons and several
essential support staff. The Center makes every effort to help
families cope with the social, emotional and financial impacts
of congenital heart disease and prepare them for surgeries, procedures
and hospital admissions. To
this end, the Pediatric Cardiac Center maintains a Cardiology
Special Purpose Fund that is used to support
many services fundamental
to easing the emotional and financial pressures experienced by
our patients and their families. Your donation to the Cardiology Special Purpose Fund might be used to pay for emergency housing at the Children's Hospital Family House, CPR classes or other patient education materials, medical services or medications, Camp Del Corazon travel expenses and related fees, or maintenance of the saltwater aquarium in the Department's patient waiting area. Donors are always welcome to specify how they want their donation used.
If you would like to make a tax-deductible donation to the Cardiology
Special Purpose Fund, please send your contribution to:
